Klas explains that it is no coincidence that they are replacing roller spreaders with disc spreaders. According to him, there are many advantages to disc spreaders. In addition to being able to control the amount of material applied, the spreading width and the spreading angle, there are many other benefits.

Klas explains that he saves a great deal of time on his sanding routes. Instead of driving three rounds with a roller spreader, he only needs to make one pass with the disc spreader.

-I don’t need to drive close to buildings or vehicles to achieve optimal spreading, and it’s very easy to apply extra material on hills and in curves. The control unit in the cab has a push button that can be used to quickly increase the amount of material in a specific area, says Klas Andersson.

A clear trend among contractors

Klas also points out that he is not alone in choosing disc spreaders. He sees a clear trend among other contractors in the Umeå region, where more and more are replacing their roller spreaders.
